“Romuvos” progymnasium focus on diversity of students' skills recognition and training.

One of the strategic objectives of the progymnasium is to promote the development of active, creative personality, and to develop students’ individual skills and self-expression needs. For the implementation of this task the gifted students' education program was created. It has consistently been implemented by integrating it into all subjects, modules, optional subjects, the content of non-formal education programs and other activities. The early identification of pupils' skills is very important. Depending on the characteristics of skills, evaluation, testing, school surveys, monitoring of the results described in the methodological recommendations teachers annually conduct an identification of a wide range of areas of students' abilities (intellectual, creative, positive self-evaluation, psychomotor, acting, language, problem solving, reading, writing, mathematics, general knowledge, learning, popularity, initiative, understanding of others, interest in science, music, artistic and other).            Teachers try to adapt the curriculum taking into account students' abilities and aim to foster and develop them. After school a large number of students develop their practical competences in individual or group consultations. Creativity training is organized for gifted students. During the training, a psychologist introduces students to the methods of creating new ideas, their usage. They learn to collaborate and analyse situations, overcome difficulties, schedule time and solve problems. In today's world it is extremely important to be able to look at the situation from different angles, implement the knowledge in an interesting and useful way. Therefore very often various creative tasks are given, personal tasks or project work using various sources of information is organised.
